Aloha Partners II

Aloha Partners II was formed in 2004 to take advantage of the growth in mobile data traffic in the United States. Currently, Aloha Partner II is the 12th largest owner of wireless spectrum in the U.S. Aloha Partners II owns Advanced Wireless Spectrum (AWS) which is concentrated in 12 of the top 50 markets including: San Francisco, Sacramento, San Jose, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Columbus, Louisville, Pittsburgh and San Antonio.

In 2004 Aloha Partners II purchased 15 licenses covering 36 million pops from the Federal Communications Commission in the Advanced Wireless Spectrum (AWS) auction. In 2007 and 2008 Aloha Partners II purchased an additional 37 AWS licenses covering 10 million pops from Nextwave Wireless. Today, Aloha Partners II has licenses that cover over 46 million people and nearly 600 million MHz pops.

Originally, Aloha Partners II had planned to build its own wireless broadband networks in these major metropolitan areas. However, the growth of Smartphones and mobile broadband-enabled laptops has been so dramatic that Aloha Partners II no longer believes that it has sufficient spectrum in its markets to meet the potential demand. As a result, Aloha Partners II will be considering partnering with existing wireless carriers to implement its strategy.
